Pennants

At the beginning of the season, around September, teams are entered in the MBA Pennant competition on Saturdays (open gender), Wednesdays (men’s team) and Thursdays (women’s team). Currently, we have five teams entered on Saturdays, two on Wednesdays and two on Thursdays.

From mid-September, internal and interclub trial games are held.

The greens are available six days a week for members to practice with access to mats and jacks via the coded rear door of the clubrooms. Please note that all greens are closed on Mondays for general maintenance.

Pennant games are played on a home and away basis. Saturday (open gender, fours format) games commence no later than 12:45pm. Wednesday’s (men only) play consists of a variety of formats – pairs, triples and fours with games commencing no later than 12 noon. The games on each day usually finish around 4:30pm. Thursday (women only, fours format), games commence not later than 10:15am and finish around 2pm and are followed by BYO lunch.

For away games, players can arrange to meet at our club and travel together to the game to minimise possible car parking difficulties.

Home games on Saturdays and Wednesdays cost $5.00 per member per game, which pays for sandwiches provided during the afternoon break for your opponent and yourself.

Pennant players who are unavailable to play on a particular day are required to advise this on the unavailability sheet located on the ledge under the B Green verandah. If this is not done, a player is assumed to be available for selection.
